Court ID Cards

If paralegals were regulated, they could be issued ID cards, similar to Bar Identification Cards given to attorneys. Paralegals could then flash those cards when they go to the courthouse and avoid standing in line for security screening, which wastes precious time.

Just a thought...

  1. Its great in theory but....

Just this past week, the court marshalls refused to let our staff attorney into the building because they said she wasn't on the schedule for 341 hearings (I work for a chapter 13 trustee). They actually made her wait 20 minutes (at the security checkpoint) while they "sorted it out".

I also love how attorneys can take their phones in court but paralegals cannot. This is why I always slip my phone into a box of files before entering the building. They run it through the scanner and don't say a peep :)
