CPA to Paralegal to Teach Parent-Care Course

Rebecca Pace, a CPA who is transitioning from a career in financial planning to paralegal work with senior citizens, is one of the nine presenters for "Straight Talk about Caring for Your Aging Parents." This is a two-part class being offered by Communiversity, the University of Cincinnati's continuing education program.

The morning session will deal with legal issues (such as obtaining power of attorney to make financial and health decisions); managing parents' assets; and housing solutions, such as the transition to retirement communities and nursing homes. The afternoon session focuses on financial matters - insurance issues and government benefits such as Medicare and Medicaid.

The panel includes attorneys, a representative from the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio, and other experts in elder care.
